A POEM FROM BOOK "IF LOVE CAN SPEAK" By H.D. ELIJAH, ISBN 1-4033-5556-8 Available to order at all bookstore websites.
I see the leaves flutter and it stung my eyes with tears I ask why for wind came When it didn't bring you here?
I hear those haunting cries Of laughters running cold And voices that can't find their custom way to home
With images forgotten And restless truths, untold, Ghostly footsteps trodden From memories ago...
It's no wonder clear ahead Are nights thirsting for dews Nights yenning to forget The need to be with you.
The day when such agony can gratify this wait And avail my flow of tears to route out my escape
When love fetters me no more No more shall I covet The heart that's always yours and what of mine you kept.
When pain shackles in regress Unlearning what I know... I must've died a thousand deaths before my letting go.
I see the passing of dreams and it broke me down in tears. I ask why for Dreams came when they didn't bring you here?
